A great opportunity has arisen to join the UK’s leading Multichannel Craft Company, based in the North East.

Crafter’s Companion design, manufacture and sell products to the craft market in the UK, Europe and the US. Customers are served through web, retail, TV shopping and wholesale.

We are looking to recruit an inspirational marketer, who is passionate about customers, products and their colleagues.

Whilst strategic planning will be key to the success of the role, execution of fantastic campaigns and promotions is also a big part of the role.

Overview:

To develop, lead and manage all marketing activity across the business. Implementing an innovative, growth focused commercial marketing strategy to enhance sales, customer engagement, brand presence and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a commercial marketing strategy for all sales channels across the business, both in the UK and Europe
  • Take overall responsibility of marketing activity across social, web, trade, tv, retail and other direct channels
  • Develop robust customer acquisition, retention and re-activation programs.
  • Guiding and overseeing the day to activities of the marketing team, ensuring cross departmental involvement through structured strategic and operational meetings.
  • Oversee overall marketing budget and spend.
  • Work with the Chief Commercial Officer to develop the customer journey and customer experience at all touch points.
  • Own, manage, grow and optimise the customer base to maximise revenue.
  • Develop an approach to customer segmentation that generates strong revenues and returns on investment
  • Oversee the development of the brand position
  • Understand the value drivers of the business and identify the profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue across all channels.
  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and promotional plan for all sales and commercial activity.
  • Liase with US counterpart to ensure a joined up approach to Marketing activity where appropriate
  • Work closely with Heads of Sales to establish commercial marketing objectives providing appropriate tools and materials.
  • Working closely with the product development team to determine product launches, sales schedules and the delivery of the marketing support required.
  • Manage and oversee social media, all online presence and direct programmes to drive sales performance.
  • Working closely with the CCO to maintain an excellent understanding of key customers and target audience to ensure that our marketing strategy aligns those channels.
  • Develop and launch product and marketing partnerships to grow brand presence.
  • Work with the digital team to forward the development and enhancement of e-commerce platforms optimising them for conversion and engagement driving traffic to sales.
  • Secure and develop valuable recurring revenue streams via strategic marketing activity 

Key Competencies

  • Experience in leading a team of multi skilled marketeers.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in business strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing market strategy across multiple channels including digital, trade, retail and web.
  • Proven ability to drive sales traffic through innovative marketing activity.
  • Previous experience of working in a retail/e-commerce environment.
  • Experience in managing and developing a customer base to maximise engagement and revenues
  • Strong people, communication and developmental skills

  • Some travel will be required within the UK, Europe and potentially US

Due to company growth, Crafter’s Companion are seeking an enthusiastic Telesales Executive to join our team, based in our head office in Newton Aycliffe.

In this brand new role, you would be responsible for contacting existing and new customers via phone and e-mail, developing strong communication, interaction and maintaining good customer relationships.

An effective Telesales Executive must be an excellent communicator and have strong organisational skills.

You must be comfortable presenting products over the phone and overcoming objections. The goal is to help the company grow by developing  business from new and existing customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Contacting potential or existing customers to inform them about our new and existing products.
  •  Answering questions about products or the company
  • Ask questions to understand customer requirements and close sales
  • Direct prospects to the field sales team when needed
  • Enter and update customer information into the database
  • Take and process orders in an accurate manner
  • Go the “extra mile” to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales
  • Keep records of calls and sales and note useful information

You should have:

  • Proven experience as a telesales representative or other sales/customer service roles
  • A proven track record of successfully meeting sales quota preferably over the phone
  • An outgoing and likeable personality with an especially confident and friendly telephone manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • A passion for selling and results orientated
  • An ability to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to customers
  • The capacity to handle rejection but with the resilience and persistence to continue
  • Outstanding negotiation skills with excellent problem solving skills to resolve issues and address complaints
  • The ability to think on your feet
  • A positive – can do attitude, with a high degree of self motivation, drive and determination.
  • The capability to work on your own initiative and think on your feet.
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Confidence in your own abilities and decision making.
